Project Description

Tangga Barat Cluster (TBC) development project consists of four (4) fields; Melor, Laho, Tangga, and Tangga Barat. The location of the fields is offshore Terengganu, east coast of Malaysia. The treated gas from TBC will be transported to shore via Resak On Shore Terminal (OGT) to meet the Peninsular Malaysia Gas Utilization (PGU) gas demand. TBC is located about 185 km offshore in the PM-313 blocks in a water depth of approximately 70 m. The current plan is to drill twenty-seven (27) wells and production will be processed at the centralized platform at Tangga Barat, TBCP-A. The gas then will be transported to Resak OGT via export compressor at Resak Platform RCPP. It is an intention by PCSB to develop an optimum scheme to maximize its hydrocarbon reserves.

Application

The system is completely skid-mounted, fabricated, piped, cabled with all valves and necessary instrumentation assembled and tested ready for installation at the site by others.

Project Description

The PC4 field is located approximately 148km offshore Bintulu at a water depth of 79 meters in block SK310.

PC4 is an unmanned 4-legged platform with 6 conductor slots and minimal facility for well testing and custody meter. Gas production from PC4 will be tied back to B11 hub via a 12” pipeline for distance of 25 km. The gas will be metered before it goes into B11 processing facilities. Upon arrival at B11R-A, PC4 production will be separated and metered using Allocation Metering and later Commingle with production from other platforms at B11DR-A.

Natural gas compressor station with glycol dehydrator:

Natural gas is moved through a pipeline under pressure, to keep the natural gas moving at the desired rate. The pressurization is done at compressor stations that are located along a natural gas pipeline. The processes that take place at the compressor stations are gas compression (which causes the gas to heat up), gas cooling (which causes the water contained to become instable and liable to condense in the pipeline) and gas dehydration (to remove the water before it enters the ensuing pipeline). For the main dehydration of the natural gas, a liquid separator is used, consisting of scrubbers and filters to capture liquids or other undesirable particles from the natural gas. The remaining water is removed from the natural gas stream by counter-current contact with a recirculation system that is filled with glycol. Through this contact, the natural gas gives up its water vapour to the glycol. The glycol in turn is circulated in a closed system, where the water is boiled off from the glycol. The regenerated glycol is then is used again.

Measurement requirements

Since glycol is expensive and has to be discarded as a special chemical, they need a means of measuring glycol accurately without direct contact.

This fiscal metering system measuring Gas and Condensate is located at the Cili Padi field and lies 153 km offshore Bintulu (Malaysia), at a water depth of 91m. KOG designed and delivered the Allocation Gas and Condensate Metering Package for this field. The Training for technical, operation and maintenance personnel and provision of Vendor assistance during onshore pre-commissioning and offshore installation, and commissioning and start-up of the Fiscal Gas and Condensate Metering package was also provided by KOG.
